In preparation for the Passover Feast and the institution of the Lord’s Supper, the Lord sent Peter and John to make the arrangements. He told them to go into the city and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him; and wheresoever he shall enter in say to the master of the house, “The Master saith, ‘Where is My guest chamber, where I shall eat the Passover with My disciples?’” And he shall show you a large upper room furnished and ready: and there make ready for us. And the disciples went forth and came into the city, and found as He had said unto them: and they made ready the Passover.
They found as He said unto them. They found the man that Jesus said they would meet bearing a pitcher. They found the house. They found the large upper room furnished. The room had a table, carpets, and cushions for lounging during the feast. They found everything as He had said unto them.
Is this not the way it will always be? There is no need to marvel at His predictions. Some day we will find heaven as He had said unto them. Some who are skeptical will find there is a Judgment just as He had said it unto them. There will be a hell just as He had said unto then. Some day He will appear in glory with all the angels, the trumpet will sound; the shout of the archangel will resound through out the universe, just as He had said unto them. On that day it will be obvious that God’s word was inspired just as He had said unto them. On that day it will be evident that the plan of salvation given by Peter on the Day of Pentecost regarding repentance and baptism for the remission of sins is just as true as He had said unto them. Jesus said, “This do in remembrance of Me.” We have a lot to remember as we eat of the loaf and drink of the cup.
